Jeff Friesen is an international award-winning photographer. He has received recognition for his work from institutions such as American Photo, Communication Arts, Applied Arts, Banff Centre for the Arts, Artropolis, and Photography Unlimited (Japan). In 2009 Friesen received eight honorable mentions in the International Photography Awards, making his work among the most repeatedly honored of over 23,000 entries in the contest.
Friesen's first long-term project, Seeing Water, has been exhibited in Canada, the United States, and Japan. The series was selected for a solo show at the British Columbia Festival of the Arts in Vancouver.
Magazines that have published his photography include Popular Photography, Photo Life, American Photo, PhotoEd, Canadian Geographic, and National Geographic Adventure. He is also a contract photographer with both of Canada's leading garden magazines, Gardening Life and Canadian Gardening.
